Mary
Sullivan
Mary Sullivan has over 17 years of customer-focused experience
within growing technology companies and markets. Prior to
starting The Customer's Eye, she was Director of Product Marketing
for the PhoenixNet Divison of Phoenix Technologies, leading
the positioning and market introduction of their network security
infrastructure. Before that, she was Senior Marketing Group
Manager for Avaya (the former Enterprise Networks Group of
Lucent) in their Silicon Valley-based Messaging Solutions
Group, leading a staff of eight. Within this Group and prior
to Lucent's acquisition of Octel Communications, she also
held positions with responsibility for Customer Marketing,
Marketing Programs and Marketing Operations. In addition,
she has five years experience in product management plus five
years experience selling technical products.
Mary
is known for her attention to customer needs as the basis
for successful product requirements, marketing positioning
and content. She has been an innovator in customer-oriented
upstream marketing methods such as focus groups and usability
testing. She also has experience with complex product launches
and a wide variety of marketing programs. She was an early
applier of e-marketing techniques for customer acquisition
and customer retention.
Mary
is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Economics from San Francisco
State University and attended University of California, Berkeley,
in the PhD. Program in Resource Economics. She has completed
coursework at UC Berkeley Extension in Strategic Marketing,
Online Marketing, Marketing Research and Creative Writing,
and has a certificate in User Interface Design.
